Campaign Worker Death in California
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County coroner's office on Tuesday identified a body found in a Delano orchard as that of a political worker.
The body of 21-year-old Magdalia Bermudez was identified through dental records, officials said. She was discovered Friday - four days after being reported missing.
Delano police detective Sam Castaneda said the death has been ruled a homicide. The cause of death was withheld.
Castaneda said police were searching for 23-year-old "Junior" Quevedo, a co-worker of Bermudez and husband of her best friend.
These two young people were doing door to door cavassing for the Republican party. We don't know why someone would kill her. Praying for her family and that of her friend's.
