Flipping around

Today, President Bush said this about Mr. Kerry:
"He has had many different positions on Iraq. Incredibly, this week he said he would prefer the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein to the situation in Iraq today," Bush said.
"You cannot lead the war against terror if you wilt or waver when times get tough," Bush continued. "You cannot expect the Iraqi people to stand up and do the hard work of democracy if you're pessimistic about their ability to govern themselves. You cannot expect our troops to continue doing the hard work if they hear mixed messages from Washington, D.C."

Two days ago, someone counted 14 flips from earlier positions in one of Mr. Kerry's speech, and Vice President Cheney mentioned nine yesterday.

I saw an ad for a Kerry weathervane...I can see why some might think it might be an appropriate image.

But I wonder, is he a weathervane, or a puppet, being directed by his campaign advisors? But if so, I wonder who will be the puppet master if he is elected?
