Integrity, Integrity, Integrity Must Mean Different Things When You Are A Liberal
Integrity means wholeness, but it also means, according to Websters:
Moral soundness; honesty; freedom from corrupting influence or motive; -- used especially with reference to the fulfillment of contracts, the discharge of agencies, trusts, and the like; uprightness; rectitude.
Lately we have been getting the feeling that there is something really lacking in the integrity part in the John Kerry camp.
Just over the weekend, we see Kerry making a major pitch based on what seems to be a made up quote by a reporter who wasn't at the function he was writing about. This is a form of lying.
He tells a story about being at his mother's deathbed in the hospital, and it turns out she died at home.
He goes against the well known teaching of his church on issues that get him political brownie points, but wraps himself in the mantle of his church on issues which his political base likes.
His organization has been caught telling their members to use claims of wrongdoing even when their is no wrongdoing.
His organization in Florida has a drive to pick up early voter ballots that is against the Florida state lawcode.
His organization has been caught in sponsoring voter drive after voter drive where many fraudulant voter registrations have been filed.
His organization is ready to hit the nation with lawsuit after lawsuit over ballots so that he might be able to get a win by judgeship, even if it rips the country apart, - and against a backdrop of blaming President Bush of doing this in the previous election cycle.
His organization has accepted money from people with ties to our enemies.
He says things designed to warm the heart of those we are at war with,
His words on foreign policy have, at least in Haiti, led directly in people's deaths.
The decision to break one of the last rules of politics - keep people's kids out of it - was calculated, cruel to the families involved, and shows clearly that there is no integrity here, just a raw need for power.
