Showing One's True Face

The Guardian has done it again...said things guaranteed to get a lot of us over here in the US unhappy.

I quote from an editorial by Charlie Brooker:

On November 2, the entire civilised world will be praying, praying Bush loses. And Sod's law dictates he'll probably win, thereby disproving the existence of God once and for all. The world will endure four more years of idiocy, arrogance and unwarranted bloodshed, with no benevolent deity to watch over and save us. John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley Jr - where are you now that we need you?

Of course, some of us feel like Bush is the tool of a benevolent God, one who put an end to the mass graves in Iraq, who has helped Afghanistan to their first free elections that went on quite nicely, and has so disrupted the terror network that they have only been able to hit a few targets this last six months.

But that's another story.

George Berryman at Alamo Nation says what ought to be said well:

Behold the true face of the Left. The entire article reads as an irrational rant from an overseas leftist - until the chilling ending. This is beyond the pale. You know - I detest Bill Clinton. I loathe him. He makes my skin crawl. However, I do not full-on hate him and would never call for his assassination. If this leftist jackass Charlie Brooker thinks that assassinating President Bush would make the world a better place then he's no better than the terrorist trash we're hunting around the world. So that's the answer, Brooker? Assassinate the leader of the free world at the very height of a War on Terror? Think that would make our terrorist enemies back off, do you? Think they'd call off their Jihad? Or does your weak, irrational leftist brain let you realize that terror would be emboldened by such a thing? Or do you even care?
