Silent Running Wonders about World Views and the Civil War in the US

Silent Running writes:

I can feel it coming in the air tonight.

Now I'm not saying it's going to happen, that there's any inevitability about it. I sure as hell don't want it to happen, But I've been sitting back of late, listening and reading and thinking. And it appears to me that the United States is facing a stark choice.

Not of policy options, but of world views.

No one is debating politics in the US right now, because it's simply impossible when both sides base their platforms on totally seperate views of reality. How can you argue about the correct methodology to use to introduce democracy to the Arab/Muslim world when your opponent doesn't believe we should be there in the first place? How can you win a war when the other side refuses to accept that we're in one? It's that basic.

Read the rest, think about it. Are we standing at the Abyss? The actions of this November will make it clearer how close we are to that edge.
